VW and Audi demonstration this weekend

This coming Saturday, 24th July, Milltek will be demonstrating their impressive range of high-performance VAG model at the Autometrix VW / Audi show, to be held at Castle Combe racing circuit in Wiltshire (a mere stone's throw from Bristol on the M4 motorway).

Milltek's eclectic mix of modified (tuned) vehicles includes some of the best that Audi and Volkswagen have to offer and include:

Audi TT RS
Audi RS4 V8 B7
Volkswagen Golf R
Volkswagen Scirocco 2.0 TSI
a very highly tuned Mk1 Audi TT
and a few more, including Milltek's Ford Focus RS (not a VAG model but eye-catching nonetheless!)

Passenger rides will be available to show-goers on a first-come-first-served basis and you will also be able to get expert exhaust/tuning advice in addition to the shows many other attractions. If you would like a passenger ride, please remember to either wear or bring clothing that will cover your arms and legs fully (such as a long-sleeve jumper and trousers) as this is a safety requirement of the circuit.

So get yourself down to Castle Combe - this Saturday - for a truly memorable, petrol-fuelled day out!

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Taking place over the first weekend in July this year�s Goodwood Festival of Speed was an occasion to remember, with no less than four brand new Milltek products getting their first public airing.

The Festival of Speed is widely regarded as the biggest and best motoring garden party in the world and there�s certainly nothing else quite like it. The show is centred around the famous hill-climb and is a truly comprehensive celebration of all things automotive.

Milltek, in their second year at the show, constructed an impressive stand featuring many of their latest products as well as an eye-catching collection of the latest high-performance vehicles.

The Cars

Nissan GT-R
600bhp, remapped, full Milltek racing exhaust system - including decatted downpipes, Y-pipe, connecting pipe, rear silencer, stunning quad-outlet tailpipes.

Audi TT RS
400bhp+, remapped, full Milltek race system employing a massive 100mm / 4� free-flow turbo elbow, feeding immediately into a high-flow 100 CPSI (cells per square inch) catalyst, via uninterrupted 76mm / 3� pipework, to a connecting pipe and finally, the rear silencer.

Ford Focus RS
Standard tune, prototype full Milltek exhaust designed to meet EC Type-approval (required for sale into Europe, and shortly, the UK). The car also featured H&R lowering springs, standard wheels black powder-coated. The Milltek Focus RS is expected to be shown in full power 385bhp+ guise at Ford Fair on the 8th August 2010 at Silverstone.

VW Golf R to front Milltek Sport's exhibition at GTi International 2010

Milltek will be displaying their latest range of VAG performance exhausts at the hugely popular GTi International show (Inters '10) at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground near Leicester, not far from junction 20 of the M1. GTi International will be held on Saturday 26th and Sunday the 27th June 2010 and is the UK's greatest event for enthusiasts of all the high-performance models from the Volkswagen Group, including Audi, SEAT, Skoda and even Porsche.

Milltek's presence at the show will be boosted by the launch of a performance exhaust system for the brand new Volkswagen Golf R. The details of what products are currently in development for the Golf R are a closely guarded secret and will remain that way until just before the show but you can expect something pretty spectacular. You will also be able to see other vehicles from Milltek's Fast Fleet including the Audi TT RS, Audi A5 2.0T FSi Cabrio 2WD and, Audi A4 B8 1.8TFSi.

There will be a large selection of performance exhaust systems on the stand to view and Milltek staff will be on hand to answer all of your questions so please come and see us.

Milltek at Performance Vauxhall Show

The Performance Vauxhall Show (PVS 2010) is coming to Santa Pod Raceway this weekend (12th and 13th June) and Milltek will be exhibiting.

Vauxhall specialists Thorney Motorsport will be on joining Milltek on their stand and bringing along their Vauxhall Astra VXR-R race car along with Astra VXR, Corsa VXR and Insignia VXR demonstration vehicles, complete with Milltek performance exhaust systems - Milltek will also have their stunning Ford Focus RS. Showgoers will also be able to see a large range of Milltek's latest and greatest performance exhaust systems 'in the metal'.

Great show for Milltek Sport at Japfest 2010

Milltek kick-started their 2010 summer show season off with a successful appearance at Japfest. Held on Saturday 15th May at Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire, Milltek exhibited a selection of brand new products from across the range such as the R35 Nissan GT-R, Nissan 350Z, 2008 Subaru Impreza STi, new Ford Focus RS, Audi TT RS, EVO X and much more besides.

Milltek are a Platinum sponsor of the Japfest show and their stand was located in the Platinum Village alongside some of the biggest names in the business. In this company it's important to stand out from the crowd and having some of the most eye-catching cars currently on sale certainly helps. In front of the gleaming selection of products was an impressive quartet of the Nissan GT-R R35, Ford Focus RS, Audi TT RS and, Litchfield Import's 2009 Subaru Impreza Type-20 demo car.

Tough weekend for AmD Milltek Racing.com at Brands Hatch

Sunday�s third round of races in the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch, Kent provided the toughest test yet for Shaun Hollamby and the AmD Milltek Racing.com team. With new entries increasing the grid to 22 cars, the battle for points was to become even more competitive.
Saturday�s practice session went well, with the AmD Milltek Racing.com VW Golf 17th fastest in the first session. A half-second improvement was made in the second session and this progress was carried through to qualifying, where Hollamby posted his fastest time of the day, lapping the 2.3 mile Grand Prix circuit in 1m35.376 secs to secure 19th place on the grid for Sunday�s first race.

The day was not without incident, though, with the Golf�s rear window being shattered late in the second practice session by a stone thrown up by another car.

With torrential rain falling on Sunday, Hollamby made a good start to the first race and was running strongly in 17th place when he was forced to retire on lap 5, the Golf having suffered a loss of drive. The problem was traced to a displaced driveshaft caused by the wet race set-up.

The deluge wet weather continued for race 2 and, with adjustments made to the set-up, Hollamby was able to make good progress, working his way up to 14th place. With two laps remaining, the treacherous conditions caught Hollamby out and the Golf spun onto the grass at the fast Surtees corner.

The front bumper was ripped off and went underneath the car but, with less than two laps remaining and the prospect of securing further Independent Team points, Hollamby elected to finish the race, unaware that the Golf�s radiator had also been damaged. The car was unable to make it to the chequered flag, overheating and retiring on the final lap. A damaged water pump was to prove terminal and the AmD Milltek Racing.com Golf had to be withdrawn prior to the final race.

With the next round of the BTCC taking place on 6th June at Oulton Park, Cheshire, the AmD Milltek Racing.com team have plenty of time to carry out repairs and improvements to the Golf to ensure that Hollamby is able to line up on the grid.

Milltek Sport and Litchfield Imports at Japfest Saturday 15th May 2010 at Castle Combe

Japfest, Europe's biggest Japanese car show, is coming to Castle Combe in Wiltshire on Saturday 15th May and Milltek Sport will be there in force.

Milltek manufacture a range of performance exhaust systems for Jap cars and will be showing off some of their latest and greatest products. On display will be an R35 Nissan GTR fitted with Milltek's latest Y-Pipe exhaust upgrade along with the Litchfield Type-20 Impreza demo car. Exhaust systems will be available on the exhibition stand for viewing and include products for the Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan 350Z and the Nissan GTR.

Milltek staff will be available all day to answer all of your technical questions and their expertise is boosted further with the presence of Iain and Jenny from Litchfield Imports - a long-standing tuning partner of Milltek.

Milltek are renowned for their rigorous product development process which includes testing products for durability and performance under extreme conditions. Track days provide an ideal test-bed so Litchfield's 2009 Subaru Impreza Type-20 demo car and Milltek's Nissan GTR will be venturing on the race track for some hot laps.

Milltek Sponsors C�dric Evard in Motocross Suisse Championship

Milltek Sport, in cooperation with their primary distributor in Switzerland Tranchet Trading, have agreed to sponsor C�dric Evard in the Motocross Suisse Championship. C�dric is riding a fully Milltek-branded Suzuki RMZ 450 in the MX1 TOP Class.

Although Milltek doesn't manufacture any products for these motorbikes, they are a company of racing fanatics, regardless of discipline, and are always keen to support its participants wherever possible.

In the first race of the season, C�dric came 24th out of 44 riders and the second race saw him holding a steady 14th place but unfortunately sustained a rib injury in the closing stages of the race and had to retire.

We wish him a speedy recovery and will keep you updated on his progress throughout the season...

Successful weekend at Rockingham for AmD Milltek Racing.com

AmD Milltek Racing.com enjoyed a successful weekend as the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship visited Rockingham in Northamptonshire, earning more points in the Independent Team class and the first point in the Independent Driver�s class for Shaun Hollamby.

Hollamby, from Orpington, was delighted with the progress made with the team�s VW Golf since their debut at Thruxton three weeks ago. �We�ve eradicated the driveshaft problems by re-positioning the engine�, he explained, �and the new suspension geometry that we�ve developed helped me to hang on to the rest of the pack in the early stages of the races, which I wasn�t able to do at Thruxton�.

Further adjustments made after the first practice session at Rockingham brought a half-second improvement for Hollamby, who ended up 18th of the 20 entries in the second session but a break in the Golf�s wiring loom meant that he was unable to set a time in qualifying.

Starting from the back of the grid, Hollamby took full advantage of the Golf�s improved handling and reliability to take the chequered flag in 14th place, earning him his first point in the Independent Drivers� class.

Race 2 was to be short lived for Hollamby, who was the victim of bunching on the opening lap (see photo below). A shove from the Vauxhall Vectra of James Nash sent the Golf spinning into the BMW of Arthur Forster, damaging the driver�s side door and leaving Hollamby with no alternative but to limp back to the pits.

Hollamby paid tribute to the hard work of his team of mechanics for their efforts in getting the car back out onto the grid for the final race of the day and he rewarded them with another solid drive to 14th place.

The British Touring Car Championship moves on to Hollamby�s local circuit, Brands Hatch, next weekend and he is relishing the challenge. �I�m looking forward to my home race, where we will again be chasing three race finishes. There should be a couple more entries to the championship at Brands and our end of the grid is becoming quite competitive�.

AmD Milltek Racing.com will be supporting the walkingtohappiness.co.uk appeal at Brands Hatch. This is a fund that has been set up by the parents of a little girl called Libby Lee, who has Cerebral Palsy. Their aim is to raise �55,000 to send Libby to the USA for a life changing operation. The appeal has raised �47,000 so far.

Libby is a fellow pupil of Shaun Hollamby�s daughter at Green St. Green Primary in Orpington and AmD Milltek Racing.com have helped, in a small way, by providing raceday hospitality which has been auctioned to raise funds. A collection will also be made at Brands Hatch throughout the weekend.

Milltek Sport has seen a consistent rise in global demand for its products in recent years and due to the popularity of its trade-only policy and feature filled online ordering system it is investing in increased storage capacity at their Sales and Distribution centre on Pride Park in Derby.

With up to four deliveries a day arriving from the Milltek factory, located just 7 miles (10km) away, the distribution centre now handles more than twice the number of shipments than when it opened in 2006. The extra storage capacity is being brought online to reflect the significant investment and expansion of our manufacturing plant near Derby during 2010.

Volkswagen Golf R32 MK5 gains 34 lb.ft torque and 39.5bhp with JBS/Custom Code and Milltek exhaust

Custom Code and JBS Auto Designs (one of Milltek's UK distributors) have developed an exciting new product for the MKV Golf R32 - called VVT Attack.

It's a complete recalibration of the Variable Valve Timing system which, in combination with the Milltek Sport cat-back system, released an extra 34 lb.ft torque in the mid-range on the JBS/CC development car! Improved thermal efficiency and the ability to run and maintain an optimized ignition angle also brought a solid power increase of 39.5 bhp (See dyno graph PDF)!

The VVT Attack calibration and Milltek exhaust also means that the engine runs cooler, prolonging engine and component life, and with improved fuel economy, substantially smoother running both at idle and when on load, greater willingness to rev, and provides smooth power delivery all the way to the rev limit. The improved exhaust cam calibration also allows the engine to expel the exhaust gases more efficiently, giving a much deeper and sportier sound to the exhaust note. It's also been fully tested on forced induction applications and is now available for the R32 Supercharger and JBS TS turbo kit series.

AmDMilltekRacing's VW Golf Mk5 BTCC Racing Car's first shakedown at Brands Hatch

Shaun Hollamby has today given the VW Golf he plans to race in this year's Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship its first run at Brands Hatch.

Orpington-based Hollamby has spent the morning shaking down the MK5 Golf at the world-famous Brands venue � his home track.

The Golf, one of the most iconic cars in motor manufacturing history, is sure to attract a tremendous following among enthusiasts. The last time a Golf raced in the BTCC was 1989, the final year the series ran to a 'multi-class' format.

As 44-year-old Hollamby told btcc.net: "The support we've received since we announced the Golf BTCC project has been fantastic. That�s before the season has even begun."

"I really hope we see owners' club members and fans from all the VW magazines, internet forums and so on turning up at race events and supporting us. Every BTCC round attracts 30,000-plus people so there's a great opportunity for them to become noticed in front of a huge audience."

Hollamby has spent the winter building the Golf to the BTCC's Super 2000 technical regulations having brought the car over from the Baltic touring car series.

The former VW Cup front-runner said: "Everything that could be done to it has been done to it. The support we've also received from everyone inside the BTCC has been brilliant � no looking down noses at us, just fantastic advice and encouragement all the way.

"Today is purely a shakedown but the car immediately feels very solid and exceptionally well balanced on all four corners. What else can I say? It goes, it stops, it turns left and right so it's been a good first run."

Successful Autosport show for Milltek Sport

Milltek kick-started 2010 with an incredibly successful Autosport International show at the NEC arena, Birmingham. Held between the 14th and 17th January, Milltek exhibited a vast array of brand new products such as the new Focus RS, Audi R8 V10, Audi TT RS, VW Golf Mk5 GTi VW Racing-spec with EC-approved catalyst, Porsche 997 Turbo manifolds and much more besides. For the first time ever, Milltek had a separate stand in conjunction with catalyst supplier HJS, in the Engineering hall. The Milltek catalyst exhibition featured hi-flow sports catalysts, FIA-approved Motorsport catalysts, re-packable silencers and, other motorsport-related products.

One of the cars of the moment is the new Ford Focus RS and that was the vehicle Milltek chose as their main show car. The Focus RS, one of the Milltek fast fleet, had undergone a number of modifications in preparation for its appearance. It was fitted with a full turbo-back Milltek exhaust system, the suspension was lowered with the help of some H&R lowering springs and the standard wheels were treated to a full makeover. It�s hard not to notice a Focus RS especially when dressed in full eye-catching Milltek livery, it attracted a lot of positive attention and comments from trade customers and consumers alike.

Milltek Sport, in combination with one of their top UK distributors, AmD Essex are entering the 2010 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The AmD Milltek Sport VW Golf is stirring interest around the World from motorsport fans as it�s the first Volkswagen Golf to enter the BTCC for more than 20 years. The car was on display as part of the AmD Technik Essex's stand in the Pistonheads hall and attracted attention from almost everyone who walked near it. It was really encouraging to have a number of showgoers actually come to the Milltek stand specifically wanting more information on the car.

Milltek Ford Focus RS at Autosport International 2010

As ever, Milltek will be exhibiting at the UK�s premiere motoring show, Autosport International, which runs between the 14th and 17th January 2010 at the Birmingham NEC arena. It�s a great opportunity to come and see our new Ford Focus RS, meet the Milltek team and, to gain a valuable insight into what new models and product developments are expected during 2010.

For the first time ever, Milltek will have a separate stand in conjunction with catalyst supplier HJS, in the Engineering hall (stand E949). The Milltek catalyst exhibition will feature hi-flow sports catalysts, FIA-approved Motorsport catalysts, repackable silencers and, other motorsport-related products. Milltek Sport exhaust to be used on the first Volkwagen Golf in the BTCC for more than 20 years

One of Milltek's top UK distributors, AmD Essex are entering the 2010 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The really interesting news is that our chosen car is a VW Golf, a manufacturer unseen in the BTCC arena for over 20 years.

"We are really proud to be bringing the Volkswagen name back into top-line touring cars. We have been working on a plan to move up to the BTCC arena after winning the Dunlop Sportmaxx Cup in 2009 and a BTCC VW Golf is a perfect fit," said AmD's Shaun Hollamby. "The VW Golf is one of the UK's most popular cars and it would be great to see hordes of VW Golf owners cheering us on throughout the year!"

Further team sponsors will be announced over the coming months.

Hollamby will be the main driver and Simon Shaw, who won the Dunlop Sportmaxx title for AmD, is trying to raise the necessary budget to campaign the car at selected rounds of the championship.

The car is based on a MK5 VW Golf shell with a 2.0 16V normally aspirated power unit with a competitive 285bhp. Sadev sequential gearbox, KW competition suspension, Milltek exhaust, HJS Sports catalytic converter and Alcon brake and clutch parts complete the performance package.

"Starting with a new car package, we expect 2010 to be a gradual development season but I am confident I can get a few competitive results. Winning races is not a realistic target at this stage but, having won races in every series in which I have competed, I would like to think I can hold my own at this level," said Hollamby.

The AmD BTCC Golf will be on display at the Autosport and Pistonheads Show next weekend in Birmingham.

The first round of the 2010 Dunlop BTCC takes place at Thruxton, Hants in April.

Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster Performance Exhaust from Milltek

Road
For customers looking for a lightning-fast throttle response, substantial drop in backpressure, a useful weight saving, more power, and a vastly improved soundtrack, the Milltek Audi TT RS Road System is the perfect choice. It combines all the regular benefits of a Milltek exhaust system with a subtle but powerful sounding exhaust note.

The TT RS features four catalysts, two primary (nearest the turbo) and, two secondary catalysts. The Road exhaust can be fitted as either a secondary catalyst-back system or, with the addition of the secondary cat-bypass pipes, a primary catalyst-back system. Neither option removes the primary catalysts so works exceptionally well with or without an ECU remap. Some cars, including Milltek�s own TT RS have already reached power figures in excess of 400bhp with only a remap and the Milltek Road exhaust!

Race
Customers looking to attack the race track with an exhaust that achieves uncompromised gas flow, a useful weight-saving, peak operating efficiency and, an Audi Quattro-esque 5-cylinder burble that simply emanates �Power�, nothing fits the bill better than the Milltek Race system.

The race system employs a massive 100mm / 4� free-flow turbo elbow (see photo, right), feeding immediately into a high-flow 100 CPSI (cells per square inch) catalyst, via uninterrupted 76mm / 3� pipework, to a connecting pipe and finally, the rear silencer. The silencer itself has the same external appearance as the Milltek Road system but features trick race internals.

Milltek understands that regardless of whether you intend to use your car mainly on the race track or mainly on the road, there are times when you want flexibility to do either. That�s why both the Road and Race systems are fitted with an Active Exhaust Valve which operates in conjunction with the TT RS�s Sport button to keep unwanted noise when cruising to a minimum.

Milltek builds the ultimate performance exhaust for the Golf MKVI GTi

Milltek has developed the ultimate performance exhaust system for the new VW Golf GTi Mk6 which not only offers scintillating power potential but invigorates the senses with its dynamic and red-blooded soundtrack.

To create this system, Milltek technicians have opted to use full-bore 76mm / 3-inch pipework and a twin compact rear silencer for effortless gas flow. However, Milltek understand that most owners will want to use their cars every day, and don't want a constant and intrusive booming from their exhaust. As a result, after painstaking road testing, they found that a volume-specific centre silencer, also known as a resonator, was needed to keep unwanted noise when cruising under control.

Milltek's ultimate GTi exhaust is currently in testing with a well-known member of the Mk5 Golf GTi forum and, although very busy at the moment, he's managed to give us his first impressions after using it for the last 7 days:

"In very simple terms I am 100% over the moon with the system, everything we discussed about performance, sound quality and looks have all exceeded my expectations of the system. It has even passed the test for the other half driving the car without complaining :-)"

Audi A5 Cabriolet 2.0T exhaust completed and details now available

Milltek Sport has completed development of a performance cat-back exhaust system for Audi's A5 2.0T Cabriolet.

The system fits the Manual transmission models only but is available with either stunning dual 100mm / 4" GT100 tailpipes or aggressive quad 80mm / 3.15" GT80 tailpipes.

The dual-outlet uses the existing rear valance (lower part of the bumper) and is compatible with the Standard, SE and S line models.

The quad-outlet system only fits the S line model and requires the lower spoiler (part number 8T0 807 521B 1RR) and detailing strip (part number 8T0 807 791 2ZZ) from the Audi S5 3.0T, available from your Audi dealer.

The pipework is 70mm / 2.75" and the system consists of a downpipe, centre silencer, Y-piece, LH/RH rear silencers and then either quad or dual tailpipe options.

Coup� model
The system also fits the A5 2.0 TFSI Coup� S line (again, manual model only). It's official, the recently-launched performance cat-back system from Milltek Sport for the BMW Z4 35i doesn't just look good it puts in a great performance as well.

Over several power testing runs on the SKN Tuning dyno in Germany, Milltek's Z4 development car showed a consistent average improvement of 13bhp and 19Nm of torque - impressive on an otherwise unmodified car.

One of the reasons for such impressive gains is, in part, due to the Milltek system replacing the restrictive secondary catalysts. There are four cats on the standard exhaust system, two primary and two secondary. The two primary cats are regulated by the engine's ECU control unit but the secondary cats are not so can be removed without requiring an ECU remap.

Through intelligent design, employing sensitively-enlarged pipework, flow-optimised silencers, smooth radius bending and, superior routing of pipework, Milltek have once again hit their target brief, they've always said: "If you can't feel the difference from the driver's seat, the product isn't ready for release".

The new Z4 system can be thought of as a complete sensory enhancement package, you get a proven power increase, sharper response to throttle input, a better sense of interaction between driver and machine and, a vastly improved aural character that perfectly compliments the performance credentials of the turbo-charged 3.0 straight-six engine.

The latest car to join Milltek's fleet of performance vehicles is the Mk6 Volkswagen Golf R. It's a great-looking car in the metal, especially in white with gloss-black alloys.

Milltek will be putting some miles on the clock before it's handed over to the tamed technicians in their workshop for exhaust development. A range of products will be available in time for this year's GTi International show at Bruntingthorpe on the 26th and 27th June.

Milltek Sport has brought an exciting new look to its existing performance exhaust range with the addition of the stylish GT100 trims. The new 100mm double-skin tailpipes give the rear of the car a much more purposeful look with a style that perfectly compliments the smooth swooping lines of the TT.

The Milltek system uses larger, full bore pipework and acoustically efficient silencers for better gas flow and gives the 1.8T engine some much-needed character - without ever becoming loud or producing drone...as one customer put it:

"Now to the question about resonance inside the TTC with the non-resonated Milltek...what I did not want was the cyclical resonating that becomes dominant and booming...what the Milltek does is provide a sporty low resonance that lets you know what the engine is doing, pleasing to the ear and is not tiring in the long run. Yes...you notice the exhaust 'note' more than the OEM exhaust...I like that and as said before, it is what I think the TT exhaust should have been from the beginning. The Milltek non-resonated exhaust tunes the low throaty sound throughout the rpms and avoids the higher pitched 'whiney' sound of the OEM exhaust at the higher rpm. Now preaching to the choir...THIS IS a sports car...not an S model Mercedes."

Milltek started producing a system for the TT back in 2000 when they were manufacturing them exclusively for some well known German tuners before finally launching their own Milltek version in 2002. A TT 1.8T quattro 225 Roadster in striking yellow paint and a blue roof joined the Milltek Fast Fleet as their first foray in TT ownership, they were so impressed that they've gone on to own a further three TT's since (although none in quite such 'vibrant' colours as the yellow original).

The Milltek exhaust has proved to be one of the best-selling upgrades for the Audi TT and can be seen fitted to thousands of TT's around the World.

Milltek have just completed development of a stainless steel performance cat-back exhaust system for the new BMW Z4 sDrive35i.

The Milltek system uses larger, full bore twin 63.5mm (2.5-inch) pipework and acoustically efficient silencers for better gas flow. The system is finished off with dual GT100 (4-inch) tailpipes that were selected specifically to look like they are part of the original design of the car and not to look like an aftermarket add-on. While subtle, they do still hint at the extra performance on offer.

Additional power and a razor-sharp throttle response is, in part, due to the Milltek system replacing the restrictive secondary catalysts. There are four cats on the standard exhaust system, two primary and two secondary. The two primary cats are regulated by the engine's ECU control unit but the secondary cats are not so can be removed without requiring an ECU remap.

Milltek Sport performance exhaust systems for the Porsche Boxster S 987 and Cayman S

Milltek offers upgraded stainless steel catalyst-back exhaust systems for both the Porsche Boxster S 3.2 987 (2004 and later model) and the Porsche Cayman S 3.4 (2006 to 2009 model).

There are 4 catalysts on the standard exhaust system, two primary cats within the manifolds and two secondary cats just before the rear silencers. The Milltek cat-back system removes the (non ecu-regulated) secondary catalysts for significantly improved performance and driver/machine response in one of two ways: either, to replace them with hi-flow emission-friendly sports catalysts, or, remove them completely with silenced (resonated) connecting pipes. Both options are shown in the photo at the top of this page.

Regardless of the option chosen, Milltek produces the system in the finest-quality aircraft-grade stainless steel and finishes them off with gorgeous twin 90mm (3.5 inch) tailpipes that have been designed to work in harmony with the stunning design of the Cayman and Boxster models. The A5 Cab in part of a development strategy that will see a comprehensive range of performance exhaust systems being released for the Audi A4 B8 / A5 models which include all of the front-wheel drive models, quattro models, diesels, and the S4 3.0 TFSI quattro.

Milltek's Ford Focus RS and Audi TT RS hit the Essen Motorshow in Germany

After a successful debut appearance at the Essen Motor Show last year, Milltek are hitting Essen once again. Last year, Milltek appeared as part of the SKN Tuning stand and this year promises to be an even bigger and better display.

SKN, Milltek's distributor for Germany, has made some space on their stand, which is in Hall 10 stand number 201, to display the new Ford Focus RS Mk2 and Audi TT RS - both complete with brand new Milltek Sport exhaust systems.

Visitors will also be able to see some of Milltek's other latest and greatest performance exhaust systems elsewhere on the stand.

Milltek has already completed development of a 3-inch full turbo-back exhaust system and were so blown away by how well it worked in conjunction with an ECU remap that they decided to add one to their own fleet of high-performance cars which also includes the Audi TT RS, Audi S4 3.0 Supercharged B8, Audi A4 1.8T FSi B8, and VW Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI.

The car will appear as the main attraction on the Milltek stand at the Autosport International show at the NEC in Birmingham in January.

New MKVI Golf GTi exhaust system development completed

The eagerly anticipated new Mk6 Golf GTi exhaust system from Milltek Sport has now been completed.

Milltek Sport engineers have worked hard to develop a new all-stainless steel performance exhaust system which injects a bit of attitude into the latest and most grown-up GTi yet.

The main departure for the new Golf GTi is the fitment of a dual-outlet (a single tailpipe at each of the two rear corners of the car) which gives the GTi a more aggressive look than previous incarnations, however, there�s always room for improvement. Milltek have used slightly larger 100mm tips than the standard exhaust to further highlight this feature but also to work in harmony with the cars� overall design.

As with all Milltek exhausts, the objective has been to endow the car with a more purposeful sound but also to release extra power and better response by refining the journey the exhaust gasses take from the engine to tailpipe.

Mountune and Milltek unleash hidden performance within new Fiesta Zetec-S and Titanium models

Mountune, in conjunction with Milltek Sport have produced a performance upgrade package for 1.6-litre versions of the new-look Fiesta Zetec-S and Titanium models consists of a high-flow air induction system, a Milltek Sport high performance exhaust including high-flow catalyst and tubular manifold, and re-calibration of Ford�s 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT engine.

The result takes the target power output to 140PS at 6,750rpm and 170NM of torque at 4,250rpm, compared to 120PS and 152NM for the standard engine. As a result, 0-60mph acceleration time is reduced to 7.9 seconds from the standard engine's 9.9 seconds.

The new dealer-fit Fiesta performance kit follows similar Mountune Performance Upgrades for the popular Focus ST and Fiesta ST models which were made available from the beginning of 2008.

All kits are fully approved by Ford and have been tested and verified on a wide range of British roads as well as numerous laps of the famous N�rburgring circuit in Germany.

Developed by Mountune Performance in association with Ford Team RS and Engineering Partner Milltek Sport, this upgrade package will only be available at selected specialist Ford dealers in Britain from March 2009. The upgrades carry a minimum of 12 months/12,000-mile dealer warranty and do not affect the original vehicle warranty.

The Milltek exhaust system is designed to provide a significant performance increase, especially in conjunction with an ECU remap, and also boost the aural credentials of 5-cylinder engine even further.
