The first race of the Milltek Civic Cup from Maximum Motorsport is behind us!
This is one of the closest fought series on the calendar and the first round at Donington didn't disappoint, with an action packed 27 car starting grid providing plenty of entertainment. The 2021 champion, Area Motorsport's Alistair Camp took out an impressively close win against team mate Liam McGill in race 1. Camp races in the less common FN2 Type R, fans got the opportunity to be up close and person to this car at the Autosport International show earlier in the year at the NEC Birmingham where it was on display at the Maximum Motorsport stand.
Race 2's reverse grid saw the Area Motorsport team battle their way through from the back after a race 1 sweep of 1st through to 5th. 2 time TCR UK Champion Lewis Kent, fought through the pack to finally take out his first Milltek Civic Cup race win!
Combined points from Kent taking out 3rd in Race 1 and 1st in Race 2 has him just a single point ahead of team mate Alistair Camp going into round 2 at Brands Hatch on the 19th - 20th April.
