Milltek Classic updates the flawless Volkswagen Golf Mk4 R32 performance exhaust

When we were looking for a Volkswagen Golf Mk4 R32 to update our Classic range, little did we know our chosen car would come with a 10-year old original Milltek exhaust system in perfect condition.

All Milltek Classic exhausts have a lifetime warranty as standard, but it was still a welcome sight to find the original system working exactly as intended.

We have since updated the exhaust for the R32 to offer more “Wookie” noises, which refers to the distinctive sound of the 3.2-litre VR6 engine fitted to the car.

The update consists of a new “V2” rear silencer that’s not only available as part of a  Resonated or Non-Resonated system, but is also compatible with existing systems so anyone lucky enough to be running a Milltek on their R32 can benefit from the deeper tone and upgrade to the new design.

Also new for this silencer is a brushed stainless steel finish. This is the first Milltek exhaust to be offered with it, although it will be rolled out to all systems going forward.

The new Golf Mk4 R32 exhaust options are produced at Milltek Sport’s UK factory and made with 304L “Aircraft” grade stainless steel. This ensures enthusiasts buying a Milltek exhaust today know it will last the lifetime of the car.

However, we wanted to further improve the wonderful noise the R32 makes, and that’s exactly what we’ve achieved with more of those fabulous Wookie sounds but no droning.”
